CHICAGO,
ILLINOIS MAY 10, 2002…The Chicago Athenaeum at Schaumburg invites everyone to
experience the work of some of the best visual artists of the Chicago
region—all together in one exhibition. SPECTRUM:
Contemporary Art of Chicago is intended to represent a cross section of the
diverse styles of contemporary two and three-dimensional art of the region.
SPECTRUM:
Contemporary Art of Chicago will be displayed from May 25 through
September 1, 2002.
“Museum Reception
for Made From Scratch and SPECTRUM” is on May
25, 2002, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Chicago Athenaeum at Schaumburg
invites the public to enjoy a delightful night out at the museum with:
Fine
Art. Many
of the artists participating in The Chicago Athenaeum’s two summer exhibitions
will be celebrating the opening of Made
From Scratch and SPECTRUM:
Contemporary Art of Chicago.
Entertainment.
The
event will be energized by the cool sounds of Omega.
Refreshments. Soft drinks,
wine, appetizers and cookies will be served.
Silent
Auction. Help support The Chicago Athenaeum’s outreach programs by bidding
on a variety of gift items and exciting pieces of art at the silent auction.
SPECTRUM:
Contemporary Art of Chicago is defined as an art exhibition
featuring contemporary artists of Chicago and vicinity who work in painting,
drawing, print, sculpture, installation and two and three-dimensional mixed
media. Stylistically, the show encompasses work that is realistic, abstract, imagist,
expressionist, and works that reflect the ethnic heritages of the artists.
